    The EOF program focuses on low-income students who want to pursue careers within the health professions. It provides a supportive environment through a combination of holistic academic advising, workshops, and academic support services.

    Eligible students can receive financial assistance for tuition and books, as well as additional academic, personal and social support to help them successfully transition to Rutgers.

  • Dependent and Independent Students

    Dependent and Independent Students are financially eligible for an initial EOF undergraduate grant if their gross household income does not exceed the applicable amounts set forth in the EOF Income Eligibility Scale. Please see the scale below.

    Undergraduate Eligibility:

    1. Must demonstrate an educationally and economically disadvantaged background
    2. Must be a New Jersey resident 12 consecutive months prior to receiving the award
    3. Must apply and be accepted to a participating New Jersey college or university
    4. Must meet the academic criteria as set by the institution of choice
    5. Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application.
    6. Gross income and assets must fall within the criteria shown below:

    For each additional member of the household an allowance of $10,280 shall be added to this amount in order to determine EOF eligibility for the 2025-2026 academic years. This allowance shall be adjusted to reflect changes in the federal poverty guidelines as published in the Federal Register. In addition, the gross income level for each household size shall also be adjusted annually.

    A dependent student's income shall not be considered in the gross household income.

    An applicant whose family receives welfare as the primary means of family support is considered eligible regardless of the amount of primary welfare support.
